To Canadiana, birlers of white waters, and those about to waltz, I salute you.
Part 1 of 2 in my homage to the National Film Board classic. The Log Driver's Waltz is a staple amongst classic Canadian animation, and an integral part of many childhoods across the country.
For the uninitiated, may I suggest you don your waltzing shoes and pitter patter on over to the dance floor...or just look it up on Youtube if you fancy.
I'm scheming on a thing that's an homage... coming soon to print, it's SABOTAGE!
Brain juice... everywhere.
A nod to the classic Kids In The Hall sketch.
Prints available for a great price... you won't even have to withdraw from the banana stand to get the cash!
Hey footy fanatics!!!
It was soooo much fun to take part in the Kampion Card Game. Totally check it out if you haven't already! Personally this was great simply because of the AMAZING artists that also took part in this fun little project. Plenty of individuals whom I admire already, plus many more that I've come to follow now too!
One of my favourite players is Bastian Schweinsteiger, so naturally he was the inspiration behind this card. I grew up watching German football as well, so it was rather fitting to work on this card while watching Germany's run to the 2014 World Cup championship in Brazil.
What quickly became one of my favourite TV shows became a piece of fan art shortly after. This True Detective trading card was featured in the 2014 CARDED! show. The title is lifted straight from the show's dialogue in reference to the eternal return concept.
Needless to say, I did not repeat this idea for season two. That was...uh...a hot mess.
Did you know 1984 was a great year for movies? Among the class of '84 was the original Ghostbusters... a movie which inspired me to collect the toys and dress up as Ray Stantz for Halloween.
Back in 2014 this A to Z of Ghostbustin' in poster form was featured in Revenge of the Art Show! among many other great artists with their array of creative praise for the year that was 1984.
Prints will be available for those who wish to contact me directly. I enjoy receiving email. :)
A tribute to The Littlest Hobo (and my best selling poster). This classic Canadian TV show from the 1980s was a staple for me back in the day. During summer holidays I'd watch reruns of The Littlest Hobo as he would keep on keepin' on...
Moustache themed illustrations that were done by request, with proceeds going towards cancer research. You can guess what popular moustache based charity this was involved with.
The Big Lebowski is probably my favourite movie, plus I truly love bowling to boot. Professional bowling never really caught on in these parts, however I feel that this great sport should still have its own series of trading cards. The Legends of Bowling is an illustrated series featuring the characters from this cult classic.
These cards really tie the collection together.
This gallery is composed of images from my day job. It's a lot of child's play... really! I take part in creating kids games, activity books, apps, etc. In my time with Kidzsmart I have done a number of cool projects, however I fancy some of the sporty projects the most, mainly because I'm a bit of a sport nut myself. I should also note that many of these major sport clients are dedicated to community involvement, goal setting, education, and all sorts of motivational initiatives... which to me is a total bucket of awesome!
